Digital Template: Slabsmith Expectations

Slabsmith Expectations

When purchasing an exotic slab of granite, we offer a Slabsmith layout which enables you to preview how your countertops will look before they are cut. After your template, it will take about three days to complete the Slabsmith process. A picture is taken of the slab or slabs that you have selected, and our expert programmer will place your kitchen on the slabs. Our programmer’s main focus is to ensure that your seams are lined up correctly, and to also maximize the use of your favorite area of the slab.

We can e-mail you a picture of the layout which you have to approve, sign off and return to us within 24 hours. If the sign off is delayed, the install date will be moved to a later date.

If you choose to come in, you can sign off and approve it here.

A few things to keep in mind…

  1. We will create the best possible layout of your countertops to ensure proper matching and flow throughout your kitchen. If you choose to change the layout, you run the risk of having a color variation change at the seam, or veins not matching.
  2. If your total square footage for example is 65, you will need about 1 ½ slabs. This means 1 full slab and half of the second slab will be reserved for your project. The half of the slab would be reserved on either the top or the bottom, as we try to keep material waste to a minimum. If you would like a section from the middle of the slab we are happy to accommodate you; however the amount of increased waste will be added to your final invoice.
  3. Make sure to check the slab and point out any markings that are your favorite or something you would prefer to avoid. Not all requests can be guaranteed, but we will do our best to use the areas that you love while avoiding those you do not, and ensuring that your kitchen matches as closely as the stone color & pattern allows.
